EXISTENTIAL CURIOUS??
Join for an opportunity to dive into and/or revisit the Big Questions of our lives in this moment, to take intentional time to prioritize self-exploration, to revisit who we are and reorient to who we want to be.
We’ll work together through guided reflections and experiential exercises while learning some core concepts of existential therapy and existentialism for everyday living.
Workshops and groups will be tailored for therapists and non-therapists alike (Fall 2025 offerings are for therapists, with a workshop for all women in Dec 2025) and we'll spend time exploring implications for ourselves, our work, and our lives, approaching it all with a spirit of humor, openness, delight, and grounding in our group community in the here-and-now.

Q : Is 3 hours/6 weeks really enough time to cover all those topics?
A: Absolutely! And of course not! Look, this is big stuff. I’ve taught semester-long classes where we still “don’t have enough time”. And. We have the time we have (as in life), so let’s endeavor to make the most of it. We’ll enter into being with the topics and with each other for X amount of time. Let’s see where it takes us, shall we?
Q: What can I expect?
Activities, exercises, time for individual reflection and group connection, as well as orientation to fundamental existential concepts to help us as people (and, if we are, therapists) navigate the questions we’re facing right now in our lives. I bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to my work, and my hope is that we have fun and find delight in the midst of searching for answers to the most profound questions of life.
Q: How many people in a group or workshop?
We'll see! I can say that groups and workshops are limited to 10 or 11 so that we can all be together comfortably (in person or on Zoom).

You know, the Big Questions: What now? What's my purpose? How do I want to show up for others and be myself in the world? How can I be myself more? And who is that anyway? And how can I embrace inevitable and intentional change?. What's missing? What's next? What does it all mean? We have times in our lives when we really grapple with the biggies, when life makes it clear we need to go back to basics and figure out who we are, who we want to be, and what's important to us in our lives and relationships.
We need and want meaningful connection with others—it’s just how we’re built. We want to try new things, meet new people, develop and discover new things about ourselves and the world. So often we feel isolated, disconnected, bored, and at a loss, and the ways we try to solve or soothe ourselves—“self care,” social media—end up only getting us so far (or making things worse). This is so much of why I teach and why I’ve loved working with groups. The energy, the exploration, the dynamic process that emerges that allows so much more possibility for learning and growing (and fun!)
Two words: Because Patriarchy.
Okay, maybe a little more than that would help. Women are awesome, and I'll write more later.
I always have and always will work with people with all gender identities, as we all are all impacted by the patriarchy and systems of oppression.
I've been teaching and training clinical masters and doctoral students for almost 20 years. I've loved so many things about being a professor, and sharing a spirit of curiosity, learning, transformation, and awe with students and colleagues has been a blast. Feminist, existential, and group therapies have often been subjects my students and colleagues have gotten little or no training in, and I think they're all super important. I'm excited to share and help therapists incorporate new ideas and skills.
