For many of us, careers are not only a significant portion of our lives, but also of our identities. I view career holistically, understanding it in the context of our lives: personal values and priorities, relationships, unique skills and talents, resources, and goals. When it’s good, work can contribute to our mental and physical health and strengthen our sense of self. When it’s not so good, or when new opportunities arise, or when we need to make career choices we knew were coming or never could have imagined, well, work can throw us for a loop.
I offer time-limited career-focused counseling. We agree to a time frame that works best for you and your career issue (generally 6, 9, or 12 sessions) and have specific objectives and goals to work towards. We will frequently revisit those goals and objectives and course correct as circumstances change, opportunities arise, and life happens along the way.
Clients who are engaged in personal psychotherapy elsewhere often find it useful to do simultaneous time-limited career work, especially if you’re finding that ongoing or emerging work issues are competing for time with other priorities in therapy.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit for your current career concerns.
